Your lens has a 12x zoom Jocelyn and thats pretty good.

I think I had used the 12X zoom which it automatically uses when lens adjusted to maximum of 420! The heron was quite a distance away from the patio I was sitting on, overlooking the creek and inlet! I just wish that I had not wasted my money on a wide angled lens that I never use, because it wont work for me! I'd rather have spent the few hundred dollars on a telephoto lens!
