These are quite heavily cropped but the best I've managed to get so far. A couple of shots of a Blue tit which is nesting in space under the eaves of the house. Not brilliant, just cute.
First picture shows it peeping out from the entrance.
Second pic shows it on the drain pipe beneath the nest entrance.
We have had sparrows nesting in the roof at the front of our house but not in recent years.
When the ivy on our fence was much more voluminous than it is now (it got hacked back!) we had blackbirds nesting in there.

Our place was also heavily covered with Ivy on one side and Wisteria on the other. It gradually became too high maintenance trying to maintain it and also keep the brickwork, roof, windows etc properly maintained. Do David cut down the Ivy a couple of years ago and chopped down the Wisteria last year. We never had birds nesting in the Ivy, just wasps (loads of them). the Wisteria was popular with lots of birds but it played havoc with the fascias and fences.
We have a lot more light since chopping and slashing it down. Still getting rid of some of the dead suckers from where the Ivy used to grow ... and grow ... and grow ... and grow!
That's wonderful Pol. You did well to spot it.
Can't wait for the little ens
I'd been hearing the scratching in that corner from indoors and thought it was him pulling out a few remaining strands of the Wisteria. So it was David who spotted it first when he was around there investigating. He has some better shots than mine too but we won't go into that.
There's another Bluey's nest on the opposite eaves. The other one's directly above the bedroom window and we can sometimes see bits of twigs, feathers and other nesting material floating down by the window. That particular corner usually has a Sparrow's nest but the Blue tits seem to have beaten them to it this year.
I'm just hoping we don't get more wasps' nests this year. I hate it when we get those!
