    Unfortunately it was a bit cloudy and the water was slaty. White pelicans feed while floating in groups. It's a cooperative effort.The smaller browns dive at food. These adult whites can have 9-foot wingspans.

    18 months ago we were down on the Keys at the start of a 3 week vacation to Florida. I remember sitting and watching the grey pelicans diving for fish, it was a fascinating sight. I don't remember seeing white pelicans at all.

      Whites summer in the Mississippi Valley going far to the north. They're normally only in FL for a month or two, but our cold winter has kept them here - it's better here than there.
