  • Not the Focus on Imaging Show...

... which I'd planned to visit on Sunday. Having read Patrick's post, I'm rather glad I didn't.

Instead, we went to the National Trust property, Baddesley Clinton, in Warwickshire - as usual when I go there, I got rather lost.

Here's a selection from the day, including one interior shot as some National Trust properties are now allowing interior photography (at the discretion of the Property Manager). Flash isn't allowed, and nor are tripods/monopods. I was told video wasn't allowed, although from the flickr National Trust group I gather it is at some properties.

Luckily I'd taken this one in RAW, as I'd got the lighting totally wrong! One click to change to tungsten...

And finally, two of the grounds (sorry, I've always had a thing about reflections at dusk)

Thanks for these Caz - my understanding is that thet National Trust is to (or has) relaxed its policy on photographing their properties? Do you happen to know the precise details?

This is taken from the National Trust flickr group:

I am just updating our website with these details but if you have any questions - please do let me know!

Please find below the answers to questions around taking images for personal use at our properties. As many of you know we have re-wording our photo policy which now states:

      Outdoors photography

All visitors to National Trust properties are allowed to take photographs out of doors for their own private use. Any individuals wishing to sell or publish photographs should contact [email protected][email protected]. However, visitors must be aware that at some places, there may be copyright issues, and further permissions may be required in respect of collections not owned by us. In these situations the Property Manager decision as to if photography is allowed is final.

So if I read it correctly, you can now take pictures practically anywhere as a personal record, but not use flash indoors (understandable as it's annoying to others). Of course permission for photos for commercial use should be arranged beforehand.

If that's all correct, I think it's highly sensible and the NT should be warmly congratulated!

Interesting place - nice shots - thanks.

          ---------------------------------------------------

The news is good allowing inside shots, as it possible before long that PCSO's will be in the grounds stopping you.
