Hi Everyone

Well it really has been rough over here of late just very wet or cold weekends. No real chance of getting out and about with anybody just not fair to drag anyone out. It was dry yesterday but still cold hence the warm coats. I was hoping to end up on the beach in this nice little spot I have found but it came over really cold mid afternoon so I gave up on that idea. Anyway that's enough waffle here are a few photos.

Particularly like the last two Peter. She looks like a different girl to the first one. I'm guessing you used a longer lens which is much more flattering

I was going to say yes off the top of my head as I did change the lens over at one point. So I checked the info in LR and it turns out all 3 were with the same lens. I used the 24-105mm. I really do like this lens seeing it has the is on it. Only down side is its is F4 at the max. I used a sigma 70-200mm later because it goes to F2.8 which I like for portraits. Oh and I am sure you know but this is the same Emily who I shot twice last year. She really does like to help out and is such a nice girl or should I really say young lady.

Oh and yes I really like the b/w ones. I used some presets in LR then tweak them myself.

No it does look like you are right. the first one was taken with the sigma it's just it was also set to F4 .

I also especially like the last two. The eyes are clearer and show more detail in those two - so the overall effect is more engaging imo.

I'm not so keen on so much the whites of the eyes in the first shot. Second and third shot the eyes aren't quite so open, nor do they seem to have caught the light so well.

All very good shots, I must try harder with my portraits.

The last two give a pleasing skin tone.

Yes Pol the last two are my favorites as well. I really do struggle with b/w but was happy with the way these came out. with the first one I did not do any extra work on the eyes this is just the way it came out. I do see what you mean by to much white showing in the eyes. Lottie the other young lady I had not meet before and did not want to ask her to do to much. She said she did enjoy the shoot and will come out again which is good has I have something planed but keeping that under wraps for now.

Barrie I am really enjoying doing portraits even when I have so much to learn but I guess that is also half the fun. Just get out there and see what you can do
