  • Southend Pier

I can't say we visited Southend today to enjoy fish and chips, which I did along with mushy peas I used our drive there to see an old work chum. The excuse to visit the seaside was to experience one of the few sunny days we have had this year.

Southend Pier is the longest in the world (currently under extensive refurbishment for the coming season) and if you click the link you will see the checkered history it has endured.

As seen from above. The railway runs to the left of the walkway.

    Re: Southend Pier

Looking for another thread, I came across these photos.

The first one - I would be quite pleased with myself if it were mine. Although I like it, I would have shortened the foreground boards enough to throw the horizon off the half way mark. The sky is beautiful. I think the shed on the right could be lightened a little though. A tranquil image.

The second one does not do a lot for me.

Two good shots Barrie - the first one really does it for me.
