That one is beautiful Jo, fantastic reflections of the early morning clouds in the water too (as well as the boats of course).

Just a few more hours to post your boats. I think there are still a few still lurking out there.

                Salon closes at Midnight tonight.

Ok here is mine. Great entries so far and thanks for the great topic.

These two fishing boats are at the wharf in Provincetown, Massachusetts awaiting the start to their day in the early morning sun.

Ooh, I try not to comment on the Salon whilst it's running but this one ticks my boxes!

                              D P NOW SALON COMPETITION NUMBER 61

                              BOATS

Thank you all for entering into the spirit of the competition – right up to the eleventh hour!

There was a wonderful variety of entries and I have deliberated long and hard over them.

The three finalists have relied on either morning or evening light to enhance their images.

In reverse order, the result is:

In THIRD Place Waiting for the Tide at Kerloc'h by rogleale.

The unusual colouring took my eye with the break in the clouds lighting up this coastal scene. I like the composition.

In SECOND Place Evening Light at Blakeney Quay by Stephen.

A beautiful scene of tranquillity; the more I look at this image the more I see.

And the WINNER is … …PTown Fishing Boats by PJPhoto.

The dynamism, composition and lighting of this entry just jumped off the page for me.

Congratulations to all the winners and now over to you Philip let’s see what you can dig up for us from your side of the pond!

                                Well done everyone!

Here's on of mine just to get into the spirit of things:

This was taken overlooking a marina in Monaco, this time last year when I attended the Sony World Photography Awards in Cannes.
