Here are some critter photos I really liked that I took last year while touring in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana on a trip with some friends.

This was taken in Zimbabwe. The lodge we stayed at had a "vulture feeding" everyday at noon where they would put out scraps and the vultures would swoop down and feast.



Against all odds, on our last day of safari we came upon this lioness in the Chobe National Park in Botswana. It was amzing to see her out in the wild and so close...a few feet away. Fortunately, she was only interested in some impala grazing a few hundred yards away.



A hippo in the Chobe River, which is part of the National Park. You don't go swimming here!
