Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No.52 In the Night

Despite wandering the unlit nearby roads tonight with camera and tripod in hand I couldn't find an errant firework let alone set up for one! So I decided to create my own. This "Catherine Wheel" is a result of long exposure on both car head and tail lights. Combined in PS, given the "twirl" treatment and hue adjusted on several different layers. Alas, I wasn't treated to black eyed peas or Parkin in the process

This is a view of part of the Inner Harbour at Brixham. Now devoid of holiday makers.

I'd have given up....... you used whatever was around to create a really interesting image. Bravo!

                  Hi,

Here is my contribution. This was taken in Portugal last year and used as one of my OU Photo Course images. I was trying to get long exposure traffic from my hotel window. As there wasn't enough traffic I turned the camera around to point into the darken room.

                      Here's mine ....
                      London, earlier this year ....

Not the best shot I took that day, but one of the most striking with the vivid colours ..... well on my monitor anyway ..

Not exactly at night but travelling home at approximately the start of the blue hour. The blue hour after another very dull, overcast day.

The March 2007 lunar eclipse - this is the event that prompted me to upgrade from a Compact to a DSLR. I've never tried layering images with Photoshop before either, so forgive me if it's not perfect!
