  • Fortnightly Salon Competition No 33 - Exit

Hello everyone! I've thought and thought and I've decided, since were have just left another year behind us, that the theme for this salon will be

    EXIT

We exit many things, situations, and many places in many ways through out our lives. Open to creative interpretation!
I won't go to much into it since I'm anxious to see how all of you decide to interpret this.

Contest will run till January 18th.

    The Rules:

    1) All photographs are to be uploaded to the photo gallery at http://dpnow.com/galleries/
The resulting link generated for the photo will then be pasted into the next available space in the Salon thread.

    2) One entry per user ID only please, which must be the personal work of the entrant.

    3) Entries should be "In line" within the thread (not as links to an image held somewhere else, any external links or photos held anywhere other than the Galleries will be deleted.)

    4) Comments only on entries are welcome within the salon thread itself.

    5) After the close the curator will indicate a winner and a couple of runners up.

    6) The curator's decision is final.

    7) Winners should be offered first refusal to choose the next theme and curate the next salon.

    8. If the winner is unable to curate the next salon the current curator may offer that "honour" to any willing volunteer, possibly the entrant in second or third place.

    9) These rules are to be copied and pasted with a new theme by the new Curator at the top of the new Salon thread with a finish date and time.

    10) As with all photos posted on DPNow, copyright remains with the photographer and DPNow will not use them without permission.

This seems like a tough topic! Here's my take:

Hummm, tough topic indeed but your pic perfectly satisfies the tough standard. Clear cut and no need of explanation. - EXIT FROM THE GREAT BUDDAH
Amazing that you can pick up a right pic out of many many old photo stocks - you surely take far more shots every year than I do, i imagine.

We took our 3 year old grandson to a theme park for Under 10's. After I had taken him to the toilet prior to our departure home, I suggested he stayed with Grandpa whilst I 'Powered my nose.' He flatly refused and sat down on the spot - hence the photograph.

Hopefully this one has something to do with 'Exit'. Exit of sulfur gas and steam from the deep underground. Taken at backyard of a spa/hot springs a few years ago.

I'm afraid I can not recall how I can "copy and paste" the uploaded pic from the gallery, though am trying it since yesterday. Kindly allow me to post as a thumbnail, if a few more trials do not go well.

                Success this time too, eh.

Here's a reminder for another time. The easiest method is to use the "My Pics" facility beheath the emoticons. Click on 'My Pics' then select 'original image' and 'inline' from the drop-down menu along the top.

                Hope that helps.

Thanks for that Pol. You would not believe the performance I go through to get my images on the screen - making new tabs - reloading DPNow, losing them and starting again!

I've just done a test with your way, but instead of "In Line" I used "Centered" (because I like mine centred) and that worked a charm.

a question from a non-native speaker of English language:

So your 3-year-old grandson refuses to be changed inside with other kids who might behave better in his opinion? - a clever boy!

                          Hi Yoshi

No, he had been a Clever Boy! and we were "Exiting" but I wanted to return without him, leaving him with his Grandpa, but he did not want to be parted from me, so he just sat down refusing to move.
