Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No 24 - THOUGHTS

The Salon is now closed. Thanks to everyone for all the entries.

Last I heard Andrew was still meditating and had reached a point whereby he became relaxed enough to empty his head of all thoughts. Good on ya, Andrew. It must be bliss.

I'll be back with the results asap.

Where's the little abstract black dot or square on the canvas Andrew?

Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No 24 - THOUGHTS

First of all I'd like to thank everyone for taking the time to submit an entry.

I'd wondered if there might be a few pictures of 'visible' thoughts eg - a bouquet with attached card, display of greetings 'thinking of you' cards, maybe a desk scattered with written thoughts and pens or perhaps rough sketches, diaries etc ......... but it was not to be.

The range of entries has nevertheless been wide and very good and the choice has been very difficult for me. Sheeesh - this is so difficult!

          Ok - here goes.

3rd place - Jojo "Amazon Child". - looking beyond the fence and thinking of her future, how it's going to be when she's grown up enough to get right over the fence and beyond.

2nd place - DTD - "Desperate Thoughts" - so much going in in this picture and all of it also very thought provoking. The desperation of one man almost tangible and almost equalled by the helplessness and perhaps discomfort of the man behind him. Both of them 'trapped' within the high walls and harsh light around them, no escape for the moment anyway. A very strong and thought provoking image which drew me in and held me for a long time - made me want to step in and ask if there was anything I could do to help.

1st place - lumix - "The wonderful, wondering angler". I love the peace and tranquility as he sits in those lovely surrounding, watches the ripples on the water, comtemplates the universe and wonders if today is the day he'll catch his biggest one ever. Excellent shot - congratulations.

Well done, Ron, now it's over to you for the next Salon.

          Pol

Good on ya Ron I knew instinctively that your image would win it. Well judged Pol.

I thought Andrew's was quite clever as well in an inverted kind of way.

Awwww. How awful for ya, Hun. That's tragic.

It's a shame you didn't manage to grab a quick 'self portayed' of yer empty head, with its blank CD, before it got all burned out wiv spinning like the clappers trying to retrieve the info for ya.

Nice Salon Pol, and well done Ron! I too like that image.

Although, my vote would have gone for Andrew, its exactly how I feel today!

Re: Fortnightly Salon Competition No 24 - THOUGHTS

I have been keeping a close watch on this salon and last night I was convinced that the competition was so hot that I had no chance what-so-ever. Looked in this morning and could not believe my eyes. I can't post my initial response but ******* hell was close to it. It has taken me all morning to get over the shock and think of a new theme. Congratulations to the two runners up that almost beat me, and well done every one for such a good selection of entries. Many thanks Pol for hosting the salon and for picking my shot as winner. New theme coming up.
Thanks also to you all for the kind remarks.
