The easiest way is to go to the 'Advanced' mode when posting your new message. Under the smilies you will see a 'My Pics' box, with the link 'Open'.

This opens a thumbnail view of your most recently added gallery images. Choose 'original image', 'centred' and ensure the cursor is where you want the picture to appear in the message box and then click on the picture thumbnail you want to insert.

Alternatively, view the picture in your gallery (best use the 'bigger' version if available) click on the button that lets you copy the UBB code for your image and paste in to your message. Unfortunately, this button doesn't appear in FireFox browsers for some reason. But you can still highlight the code and press CTRL+C, though right-click/copy won't work.
