  • Fortnightly Salon Competion (No 14)

Thank you once again to Andrew for the running the last Salon. The theme for this next one is:

    T O L E R A N C E

A few suggestions to whet your appetites: physical, mechanical, mental, lack of, zero, or indeed any other take on the theme you can think of.

Over to you folks now. So, thinking caps on, cameras out and start getting creative! The Salon starts now and will end on Sunday 15 April at 14.45

(Sorry this is a bit of a boring layout - my editing bits & pieces don't appear to be functioning!)

    ............and the Rules

    1) All photographs are to be uploaded to the photo gallery at http://dpnow.com/galleries/, they can be put in members own gallery if they wish. The resulting link generated for the photo will then be pasted into the next available space in the Salon thread.
    2) One entry per user ID only please, which must be the personal work of the entrant
    3) Entries should be "in line" within the thread (not as links to an image held somewhere else)
    4) Comments only on entries are welcome within the salon thread itself
    5) After the close the curator will indicate a winner and a couple of runners up.
    6) The curator's decision is final.
    7) Winners should be offered first refusal to choose the next theme and curate the next salon.
8.) If the winner is unable to curate the next salon the current curator may offer that "honour" to any willing volunteer, possibly the entrant in second or third place
    9) These rules are to be copied and pasted with a new theme by the new Curator at the top of the new Salon thread with a finish date and time
    10) As with all photos posted on DPNow, copyright remains with the photographer and DPNow will not use them without permission.

    Good Luck

Re: Fortnightly Salon Competion (No 14)

Okay, here's my entry - no doubt I'll find a better one in a few days and wish I'd waited...

I hope I'm allowed to put an explanation with this picture, as I think it needs one! I have two main hobbies - photography and Geocaching (GPS 'treasure hunting'). My long-suffering husband gets dragged all over the countryside with me looking for Geocaches, as I can't drive.

On this particular occasion, he had fallen and hurt his ankle, then got soaked by a huge wave - and still I was determined to look for the cache. So good old hubbie grinned and bore it, and walked (well, hobbled) on with me. When I found the cache he looked so relieved, as he know we could finally turn around and go home! I reckon that qualifies as tolerance!

        Here's my entry,

This is Charlie, our ten year old Springer who has most certainly shown tolerance since Frank arrived 9 months ago.

              Let's see some more entries!

Less than one week to go.....

How tolerant have you been this fine and sunny Easter weekend?

              Kid's pushed their luck?
              In-law's stretched your patience?
Well, how about the dreaded motorway tailbacks?

Let's see some more entries rolling in, a traditional take or something more "outside of the box"!

I dont know....have you ever had that feeling that you have taken ONE too many photos of your family, and their tolerance suddenly evaporates?

Taking some pictures of my brother in law and his kids at the weekend, and suddenly I had a rocket fired at me!

Re: Fortnightly Salon Competion (No 14)

Captured yesterday when my sister brought a dog shes looking after round to our house. He took an immediate attraction to my mother, who of course loves animals of most kinds, and tollerated him jumping all over her.

Its not that often you see these two tolerate each other.

I'm not really sure who's tolerating who in this shot, but I can assure you that for one of the parties involved, it was short lived...

Definately one from the archive again I'm afraid. But it did seem to fit pretty well.
How much longer was he going to tolerate this bucking bull? Not long by the look of things

He's tolerated the birds and the pedestrians for years as they pass below his perch in a street in Geneva, and despite it all, that is rust on his sword.
