Is there going to be a late rush? I'm just sorting my entry out now and it could prove controversial!

Here is my entry -late as usual - I looked for the unusual or unorthodox but I finished up been pretty traditional with a portrait of my grand daughters.

Hey Martin - that's a lovely result. Andrew has a tough judging role this time! I would have cleaned away the residual wall detail, but apart from that the girls' expressions say it all.

I do hope so! Nothing like a bit of controversy to get people to sit up and take notice

My interpretation of the salon theme this time is that this bag lady, photographed at Marble Arch, London, earlier in the week, probably only has the pigeons to call upon as a surrogate family...

She may have material poverty but she obviously has spiritual wealth

Thanks for everyone for taking part in this Salon. Some great Photos. Right lets get to it.

                              In 3rd place Mike Parr.
A great shot of a family with wit and humor. Pets are always part of the family and how you bribed them to lay there i would love to know .

                              In 2nd place Bearface.
A fantastic shot of a fun, loving family wonderfully posed and great lighting.

And the Winner JoJo's simple grave. The photo that moved me the most.

This is a simple list of names on a grave but once they were a family, I doubt anyone alive remembers them as one. Albert and Florence both born in 1862. Did they grow up knowing each other? childhood sweet-hearts maybe. Anyway they got married. When they reach 30 their Daughter Edith only 11 months old died, but why we may never know but it must have torn them apart to lose her so young. 5 years later they had a Son Stanley. 1912 part of Albert's family was lost when his father George died. Then in 1916 the Family was torn apart again with the death of Albert. 2 short years later and Stanley was taken from Florence, Given the month and year he must have died in the great Flu pandemic that took more lives round the world than the great Black death of the middle ages. And finally Florence Died aged 81. Someone left alive cared enough to put this grave together so maybe she had more children with Albert before he died who are not on this grave, so maybe she died with what was left of her family around her side.

Thanks again for everyone who took part Sorry i can't comment on you all but it would take a week to right down all the things i would like to say about all your photos.

So its over to you Jojo looking forward to see what you'll pick as your Salon.

Congratulations Jojo on winning the Salon. I personally liked your take on the theme, infact its an idea I had myself at one point. The family on the gravestone was well spotted, and it all goes to prove than something a little off the wall so to speak can often win with this Salon concept.
I look forward to your theme for the next one
