Salon 251 - All the fun of the fair

It's getting to be that time of year again when the travelling fairs take over the streets of your local town for 2-3 days. A wide opportunity for shooting interesting images, whether it's at night with all the lights, music and motion or during the day when the younger children are around and excited.

And if you haven't been to a local fair, what about the seaside? Or even the feria? The Spanish ferias are amazing

Instead of a State Fair, all six New England states join together for the annual Eastern States Exposition (The Big E). Circus performers are a big attraction. Here's a shot I got of a Russian Acrobat.

Sorry I'm late - I was out shooting a gig and didn't get in until 1 a.m., so didn't want to fire up the computer!

Thank you to all who entered.

3rd place: Garry's fairground ride, which brought back memories of countless French towns with their carousel. I don't know if this was in France, but that was the vibe I got.

2nd place: Barrie's bumper cars, so colourful.

1st place: Andy's "no thanks" on Brighton Pier. Superb image, and so clear! (And my thoughts, exactly - no way).

So Andy, it's over to you.

Our Michaelmas fair starts next Wednesday and a local Facebook photography group is talking of meeting up. For me, it all depends on the weather - if it's like today (pouring with rain) I think I'll skip.
