There are some excellent candidates for the winning image. Thanks for all the outstanding photos and the winner is Rab. I particularly like the spontaneity he has captured. The remaining images are all runners-up.

Yes, I also loved this imaged and it did very well for me in competitions.
It just proves that you don't need exceptional cameras to be lucky. It was the bridge camera. Canon Powershot G3.
We were in Croatia (SAGA Holiday). Had a coach outing to this village and we were walking down the main street, when I saw this old lady sitting on the wall looking down the street. I thought I can get this pic without her seeing me. Well, there were others walking up the street with the same thought about photographing her, she saw them and quickly turned her head putting her hand up to her face just as I clicked the shutter.
It is a shame that tourists invade their little space, she was so typically indigenous and it was a beautiful little village.Comment
