DPNow Salon Contest no. 274 - Holiday Memories

Since I don't think many of us will be travelling far afield this summer, I thought it might be a good idea to share images from holidays past.

I must admit I pinched the idea from one that Barrie posted previously - and I'd rather you didn't post the same ones!

• Any photos must be your own work.
• Each salon is open for two weeks .
• The salon curator then chooses three photos from three different contributors in order of his or her personal preference and the one deemed the best endows its owner with the job of curating the next salon, after choosing a new topic.
• The salon curator doesn't compete but can post some examples, if necessary, to give some inspiration

A couple of samples from me - the first one, funnily enough, has just received a 'Summer 2020' award from the editors at ViewBug, although it was actually taken last Christmas. Most of my holidays nowadays are visiting my grown up children, who both live in Europe. The first image was Christmas in Mijas, the second was in Strasbourg last August.

I hadn't realised that patmoore. I assume because my US relatives are part British they are used to the phrase 'going on holiday' and use it when they visit us.

Of course, travel (providing it was taken on vacation) is fine.

Question - Here in the states the term Holiday only refers to significant dates on the calendar. We don't use the phrase "Going on holiday". Can we submit travel pictures? That will open up a LOT of possibilities. 😎

Our #3 grandson on Christmas mornng 2015. He was three years old and all he wanted for Christmas was a snowboard. The next day I gave him his first snowboard lesson.


Three years later at the US Nationals he won his age group in both ski racing and snowboard racing.
