  • DP Now Salon Content 269 - Black and White

Apologies for the delay, totally missed that I'd won the last challenge!

As it's not easy to get out and about at the moment due to lockdown, and my winning image although not black and white was definitely monochrome, I thought I'd go for this as we haven't had it for a while.

    This is what you do,
    • Post up to 3 images in this thread. You can use the forum attachment system or link from an external website.
    • Any photos must be your own work.
    • Each salon is open for two weeks and this one will close on Thursday May 7, 2020 at 23:59 GMT.
    • The salon curator then chooses three photos from three different contributors in order of his or her personal preference and the one deemed the best endows its owner with the job of curating the next salon, after choosing a new topic.
    • The salon curator doesn't compete but can post some examples, if necessary, to give some inspiration

Personally I love black and white: sometimes I use it when I'm shooting music and the lighting is appalling, or occasionally because I think colour would detract from the subject I'm trying to highlight

I also like street photography and architecture in black and white - and it's quite handy for pets, too

If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.

Thank you for the entries - obviously something we've all done and a popular subject. Keep the entries coming - from what's posted so far, choosing a favourite is going to be diffuclt.

Thank you for all the entries - it hasn't been easy choosing a winner! The ones that stood out for me were Pat's big cat, Garry's Mask, Pennytrick's Viking Ship Sculpture and Rod's Moon.

But the winner for me was AndyM's Tynemouth Priory: lots to keep you interested in this image, with that amazing sky.

                          Over to you AndyM.

That would have been my choice too. Great shot!

I'm encouraged by the participation numbers this time. Let's keep it going.
