single exposure using a canon 40d, through an 8", 1000mm 'scope at prime focus. tweaked a little to bring out extra detail.

now itching to get some clear nights to have a better crack at this, and its near (visually) neighbour, the horsehead nebula.

Thanks ever so much for choosing my pic Autumn! Have to say I don't really believe in the rule of thirds with reflection pics . Would like to say though that this is my favourite pic of my own that I've ever taken so I'm a little bit proud it's won.

Give us a day or two to think up a new theme...
