Many fine flowers,but it`s easy enough to photograph a flower,i miss a more artist-rich entrance on the topic ?
I must comment on the unfortunate comment halfway through, however, as not only had the eventual winner already posted, but there WERE some fine interesting and artistic interpretations of the theme too, especially those by Ash (although I dislike the large and distracting copyright sign), the high-key "pond flora" from Horacio and many fine and artistic crops.

with absolutely no disrespect meant to jim, the goalposts moved halfway through then seem to have been ignored with the final choice. all a bit weird to me.
i think that what we can get from this is that it'd be worthwhile if the salon host explains, in either the salon regs or an immediate follow up post, what they're looking for in the submissions. i know i did this with the SOUND salon.

Wow guys, What a thing to wake up too. Not only to win the first Salon I've entered but to be embroiled in controversy at the same time.
Thank you pewidane (Pedar) for hosting the salon and I am honored that you chose me as the winner. Congrats to the runner ups, you and everyone else had very nice entries. Come to think of it, I am kind of surprised I won.
I would speak to the controversy but in the 25 years my company has been dealing with the Denver art scene on all levels, I still don't understand what makes someone a artist or not.
Right now, I am annoying both of my remaining brain cells to come up with a idea for the next salon and will have it up by the end of the day.

I did mean to enter, but kept dithering over a selection and when it started I was away on holiday (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)
