    Thanks Pol :-)

As I said originally, a couple of nice wee boats in Port Stewart NI.
Just because cliches are cliches does not make them wrong. I do like walking in the rain.

What you are looking at here is a custom Harley Davidson motorbike. You can see the huge silver/chrome right foot rest and the rear brake pedal. In the background is the engine and the amazing exhaust snaking away to the rear.

The cruise concept is hard to beat for those that like that kind of thing. All day on land and sail at night, a new place every day. This was the evening departure of the cruise ships from Antigua just as the sun was setting.

well it is not mechanical but also not a footpower device. It is a combination of fire and air. It looked to me a challenging option. Horacio

OK, a week to go and once again I am already in a quandary with the quality of the images in here. Each time I say wow THAT may be The One, someone else adds another entry that is great in it's own right. Keep them coming, but I may need to duct tape my head before it's over so it doesn't explode.

                      Hi there,
the way to get there is definitely tarmac skiing don't you think!
                      Cheers

Hi. I don't want to appear Pedantic but this is what the curator posted as his condition (my bold)

So, the new theme is Getting There. Transportation, and people using it is what I'm talking about. Think autos, trains, planes, kids on scooters, sleds, skis, zip lines, whatever. I'll be looking for the most interesting photograph using anything that loosely qualifies as transportation. Mechanical only, foot power is out, but that's about the only rule.

OK, stick a fork in us, we're done.

All of you (with one noted exception) had the right idea on the theme, and several were quite good. I want to make a special remark about Peder's image, which I really like a lot. Unfortunately, it says 'been there' rather than getting there to me.

Third place goes to AndyB, with his Pic of the Day fighter jet. I love military aircraft, but that's not why it made the top three. This is an excellent picture, well composed, great exposure. You can see the engine heat distortion following the aircraft. Well deserved as Pic of the Day.

Second place is mi amigo, Horacio. An interesting image to describe the theme. The shadow of the hot air balloon is prominent in a scene that has strength in it's lighting and a unique view in it's composition. I liked this the first time I saw it.

The winner this time around is the Mal entry. What looks to be a Brit Benz through the tunnel, a feeling of speed and power depicted by the blurred surroundings, the pilot confident in his control at the wheel. Composition is great and the entire image holds your interest and says 'getting there', and in style no less. I can smell the leather. Congratulations. Now, after many weeks of this kind of stuff, I'm heading to the closet to hibernate for a while. See you in April.
