When I worked for Boots Pharmaceuticals in South Africa, I went to the mother company in Nottingham on business for 3 days! It was quite a revelation seeing just how big it was! It was a fascinating & productively worthwhile trip!
They employ a massive number of people! That didn't include each Boots the Chemist on many city's street corner!

This is half of the statue in Northampton to commemorate the discovery of DNA - one of the scientists (Francis Crick) was born and educated there.
