Select the required image using Editing program (Photoshop)
Duplicate your Background layer by clicking Layer>Duplicate Layer in Menu!
Ensure that you have Black as Foreground colour by pressing CTRL + D
Go to Filters in menu & select Filter>Stylize>Find Edges which will apply the 'Find Edges' to convert to Line Drawing in colour!
Press Shift + Ctrl + U to desaturate the image.
Open the Levels adjustment in Menu by selecting Image>Adjust>Levels & move the Right hand marker to the left! This will clean up the lines & remove a bit of the fuzziness!
You can also selectively remove some unwanted lines by changing your foreground colour to white, selecting a small size of pencil tool! By zooming in, you are able to remove lines by clicking the pencil tool on them! By dragging the pencil tool over the lines will eradicate them quicker if precision not required!
Check that Foreground colour is still Black!
Go back to Layers palette & apply a layer mask (the square with circle in the middle) By selecting this icon you apply the layer mask!
Bring up the Gradient tool by hitting G on keyboard.
With layer copy selected, drag the gradient from about the middle of the photo down! The further down or up you take the gradeent, the less line drawing will show. I experimented with my photo by applying the gradient two or 3 times to get the required look! I used the Foreground to Transparent gradient!
You can also use the High Pass & Note paper filters to produce line drawings! Those are more work but tend to give you more flexibility with precision line drawings! If anybody would like to know more about that, send me a message or reply here! Good Luck & Happy experimenting!
