I've just discovered this really cool function of Lightroom, so much so that I thought it worth sharing.
It allows me to import photos into a designated folder on my Laptop. From here I have it programmed to put the files into my Dropbox This is all done in Lightroom by going to File > Auto Import and filling in the appropriate settings, in my case on my Laptop. The Dropbox automatically uploads them to my online account (free btw) and from there they are sent to my Dropbox on my desktop machine, where they are put into a designated Auto import folder, set up in LR on the desktop machine. As soon as Lightroom is loaded on my desktop machine the files appear automatically.
So in theory, I could be in Australia, I import a set of photos into my Auto import folder, where they also appear in LR on my laptop. The photos are then automatically put in my Dropbox folder on my laptop where they are sent to my online folder, and finally they are forwarded to my desktop machine back at home ready to be imported into LR as soon as its switched on, cool eh?
