  • A question about lightroom

    Dear All,

I use lightroom to process raw files on my macpro however I am off to Tuscany this summer and will be taking my macbook air along and would like to process some pictures whilst I am away.

So here is my question. If I process raw files on the air is there a way of transferring the files to the macpro on my return, keeping any processing work intact? For example say I alter white balance and exposure on a raw file on the air. Can I transfer the raw to my pro and still see the alterations in place?

    thanks for any help.

Indeed there is Josh. Select File, Export as Catalogue, this creates a folder with all the photos and the adjustment settings you have made. When you are home, transfer the folder on your network and then go to File, Import from Catalogue. Browse to the Lightroom file in the folder you transferred and the whole lot is imported into Lightroom.

Hi Josh, yes - no problem, just export your selection of images as a Catalog. All your edits will retained when you import the Catalog on the other Mac
