Hi Ian,
I voted because I use Raw occasionally, not really when I think It is needed, but when I remember it is available and I feel like useing it to learn, so don't know enough is not really true nor is only when I think it is needed. so in a way both apply.

I do fully intend to get into RAW. I also have a Pentax ist DL2 which has the RAW option but at the camera is pretty new and I have never used an SLR with automatic things on it so I am really still learning the camera and simultaneously trying to teach myself the basics of photoshop elements. But as I say I do foresee that at some stage hopefully in the not to distant future I will understand enough of everything else to feel confident to move onto RAW

I'm with Stephen. I use RAW all the time. I love the flexibility. That said there have been times when the larger file size has led to the buffer being full and the shots slowing down. This tends to happen only when I am taking pictures of my fast moving kids so now I try to work in bursts of 3 -4 pictures. This generally allows the card and camera to keep up.

Always use RAW. Come to think of it I can't actually recall taking a jpeg.
As I've said in a previous post, Aperture has made RAW workflow very straightforward.

i have always shot in raw until i decided to experiment a bit one day. i shot a scene in raw then in 'normal' jpeg. printed them 16 x 20 and could honestly not tell the difference. something still tells me that shooting in raw is beneficial yep, i'm on the fence with this one.

I think RAW really comes into its own when you need to make fairly big changes to the file. But then I'm sure your shots are pretty good to start off with
