I've forgotten how to reset the CS2 defaults.

I was printing customised cards recently and accidentally reset the picture package templates to a custom setting and I can't get the original automated picture packages back again. I was hoping to reset the defaults but can't seem to find the settings.

    I'm hoping I can reset them to the various options eg 2 x 7x5 etc, 1 x 10x8 etc

I'd really like to have the original template setting restored without having to reinstall PS.

    Can anyone help please?

You may be able find what you're looking for at http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=232

There's a "How can I reset the Preferences?" that show's with a video how to reset many settings in PS CS2.

It should be and that's what I'd done when I customised the 2 x 7x5" template. however, I wasn't concentrating, clicked the Ok when it asked if I wanted to customise permanently and now all I have is a customised template. I'd though it would only customise the 2 x 7x5 template but it didn't - it seems to have wiped away all the other templates too.

All the automated picture package options have gone. My only option now would be to create my own zones and customise a brand new automated package each time I wanted to use one.

I looked in the preferences but can't find anything that resets the package templates and I can't face plodding through the big, fat tome that is the CS2 manual unless I absolutely have to.

        Geez but I'm cheesed off.

Thanks for that - much appreciated. I've had a look through but there's nothing about resetting the templates, only the usual options for resetting the tools, styles, actions etc.

The attached screenshot shows the one and only picture package option I now have.

The way I see it, my only remaining option would be to add zones and re-create a new customised package each time I need one or try uninstalling then re-installing CS2 and hope it will reinstall the original setting and templates rather than keeping saving it as it is at the moment. I'm not very optimistic though - I suspect it'll save my knackerd picture package setting.

            Phew .. I'm finally sorted!

Went into the Adobe forums and was too thick to follow what they were wittering on about, as usual.

So - I tried the repair function on the installation disc and that didn't fix things. Therefore I uninstalled CS2 completely, binned my own customised layouts from the remaining folder then reinstalled.

All the usual automated picture package layouts back in place and working as they should be ....... and I won't muck about with them or 'save' any of my customised ones in future.

I'm smiling again, also full of triple chocolate chip muffins.

Yes, no bother because they all stay within the CS2 folders even after uninstalling the proggie. They're just imported extras so they don't get unistalled.

There are various options on my installation disc, repair or complete uninstall, then further options on reinstall for saving preferences or not, transferring activation or not .. so I simply uninstalled completely and opted to remove all personal/customised prferences, went through the remaining stored CS2 folders left on the HD before reinstalling, got rid of my customised layouts, reinstalled and everything went back to how it should be.

I have the various plugins and actions backed up in another folder and an external drive too so I wasn't too concerned about those as they're easy to import back in anyway.
