The anamorphosis correction does cause straight lines to become curved so you have to weigh up the lesser of two evils and I often find I don't mind the curves if the corner stretching goes away.

I looked at the web site but didn't find any technical info.. I dare say they want to keep the detail of the techniques to themselves, but it would be nice to have some idea of how the pixels are grown or shrunk and how re-sizing artifacts are handled.
