  • How do you add a watermark/copyright logo?

Happy grey day to you all!
Following on the subject of copyright that Life in a Lens raised, Bearface mentions adding a copyright logo. Please can someone tell me how to do this Whilst I dont' imagine anyone would want to "acquire" my photos I would still like to know how to do it (and is a watermark basically the same thing?) I currently don't have PS or Elements just MS Digital Suite 2006

    Ta very much,
    jojo

Download any Watermark software that does this.
Paint Shop Pro that I use has this option and Photoshop I believe does too.

In Photoshop, you click on the shape tool and scroll through the custom shapes for the copyright logo. You can draw it as large as you like and in any colour, before adding text alongside it via the text tool. When you've finished, you need to go into Layers >> Flatten Layers before saving your image.

Thank you Archangel and Bearface - I've had a root around in MS Digital Suite can't find anything in custom shapes etc - guess I'll have to get myself PS/Elements or similar sometime in the near future if I want all the fancy stuff it affords!

          regards,

Ah, I like this approach - K.I.S.S. (from the "keep it simple, stupid" school of methodology)

              Thanks Pops!

Is there an ALT key on the left of your space bar
If so press it and at the same time type in the numerical code. This must be done when in T or text mode of course.

Hi jojo, looks like you and me are thinking about similar things. Here is one more alternative.

A freeware, FastCapture, can do the water mark. I downloaded the newest version a few days ago and tried it just now before posting this one. Sorry I was at the moment not successful in making my own watermark. So the watermark is unchanged "FastStone". You can download it from the url shown there soon.
I also added "drop shadow edge" and "torn edge" for fun.
                      yoshi

p.s. FastStone has four or five softwares. If you like you can also download FastStone Viewer. But for the above purpose, FSCaputure seems just enough.

jojo I also use Microsoft's Digital Image. Here is a sample picture with copyright bottom right corner. I just use text insert and select font etc then drag it to where it dose not spoil image.

Can that method be resized? It looks way to large as it is. Also looks impersonal and gives free advertising for them

Hi, yes you can but for resizing, you need to download another software FastStone Photo Resizer. I'm not necessarily very familiar with FastStone but looks like it's better to download everything, especially the main freeware, FastStone Viewer.

About the sample pic I used yesterday: The river was running FAST and you see lots of STONEs in the river, so I thought it was an ideal pic for the FastStone. Well, I replaced it with my own text, hopefully it's no more impersonal. I happened to use PS Elements for the resizing, tho the text was duly added by FastStone Capture.
