  • Lightroom 3 tip

For sometime now I have been unable to delete images from Lightroom 2 and 3. I have googled and others have also had the problem but didn't come up with a solution.

A dialogue box appeared saying I could not delete, however, I was able to remove the image from LR. That was OK, but if the shot is rubbish I don't want it on my computer!

I believe it is something to do with Permissions, but when I looked at them they seemed so complicated and I didn't understand all the variables.

Anyway, someone at our Club suggested as easy solution!

Before clicking on the LR icon to open the program, Right Click and click on "Run as Administrator" instead of just "Open." It works and I can now delete as I used to be able to within Lightroom.

I forgot to say, I think it is since I have upgraded to Windows 7 that the problem occurred - I could delete through Vista.

If you are not logged in as an 'administrator' you will find that you cannot delete anything other than things in your own documents.
If you are the main user then its always handy to be an administrator.

As I am the administrator, is there any way I can make it the default that I am the administrator?
