    It was rather cold this afternoon and I wasn't the only one who was feeling it.

    I appreciate that there is some noise in the background which an ISO of 800 explains.

    Hi pops, If you get the picture the noise is acceptable. Looks like he/she has had a night on the tiles. It sure does look cold.

      Can you remind me of the camera/lens again, Pops.

      You're trying hard so I hope you don't mind the slightly tough critique - I think you are aspiring to a better result. The picture is on the soft side, possibly because of the high ISO, but also possibly because of the lens? The 'bokeh' of the out of focus backround isn't quite right either.

      It's not bad, but I instinctively feel it could be much better.

        Ahhh, the poor thing looks like he has a bad eye!

        The picture, as Ian has said does look rather soft, I would be interested to hear what apperture you had this set to, as I think using a lower F-value would have thrown the background more out of focus, isolating the bird more. Also, this would potentially have allowed a lower ISO, which would in turn have improved the picture quality.
