  • Macro shots

I have owned a Sigma 105 Macro for some time now, extension tubs and ring flash.
I can't say however that I have made the best use of them. Well today I had a very interesting and enjoyable learning curve making use of all three, plus a 1x4 converter.
The converter was attached to the camera next the tube and of course lastly the lens.
    Here are a couple.

    First Shot f9 1/250 ISO125
    Second shot f8 1/200 ISO200

Lovely shots Patrick, I particularly like the second one. I think the camera position really brings you into a close encounter with the insect. The totally black background also makes it stand out wonderfully.

        Thanks Stephen.

I was interested to see your comments on the background, being so black it worried me a little. I felt there should be a hint of something in it, but that's flash for you, the background was in shadow so no sun to help a little.

Just missed a very promising shot two fly's mating, by the time I had got the camera, focused they were off. Thought as they were so preoccupied I might have got my shot.
