  • Filling a rainy day

    Dear All,

I know there are a 1000 ways to take pictures outdoors in the rain but frankly I really couldn't be bothered (wasn't my first choice of word but keeping it clean) going out in it.

So instead decided to focus on my wife's tulips. Here are my fav 3 for your critique.

More can be found here. http://www.pbase.com/joshbear/november_2006&page=all

    Best Regards

    Josh

    Re: Filling a rainy day

    Hi Josh,

Well, the first one I am really not keen on, the white flowers and the white background doesnt really work I dont think.

The last one looks amazing though! I love the idea! and the way you have presented it.

Looks like a missing link on the second shot though.

      Hopefully fixed the link now.

Thanks for the comments. I was going for that arty look you see sometimes, i.e. white on white. I am going to print out at A3 in a minute to see how it looks. I agree it won't be to everyone's taste.

      Best Regards

        Hi Josh,
I am impressed with the first and last images, and feel that they both offer the viewer pleasure in their own way, I do like the "Arty" feel of the images, they will, I feel make great posters/pictures for a coffee "Lounge" or anywhere people relax.

          Re: Filling a rainy day

Josh, I think they are all excellent - I disagree that a white flower against a white background doesn't work, though I certainly feel the third one is the best - it's outstanding and I would like to feature it as a future Picture of the Day. I notice you don't have a DPNow gallery; POTD here features DPNow gallery posts - would you mind starting a gallery for us?

          Pretty please!

I like the first picture, it looks peaceful and calming. I love the colour of the tulips. The third picture is the one I would choose out of the other two. I love the vibrant colour you have chosen. I am new to photography so I have not commented on anything, I tend to read what other people say. But now I've have taken the plunge, I may do it again.

welcome scatty. I have been posting here for a few years now and have learnt lots. Thank you for your comments.

Ian - Thanks for your comments as well. I am thrilled that one of my pics may be used. I think I have created my first gallery just of my recent flowers pictures. Let me know if I have got it wrong.

              Best Regards

I like all three. The last two are an excellent idea – wish I'd thought of it!

Yes, Josh, your gallery is looking good - and you might have been the one to bring the gallery tally of photos past the thousand mark today!
