I took these pictures today, upon arrival to this rainy-spring day at Times Square, New York. From my room window, I was captivated by playing with the geometry, black&white lines, forms and contrast and tiny patches of color or letters of this building. I would like to read your comments!!. Thank you Regards, Horacio.
I too am facinated by reflections and often go looking for them specifically rather than photographing the actual subject. These "Pattern" pictures are also an attraction for me.
Something that always intreagues me is the way the reflections always look a lot more distorted in photos than when you look at them at the time. I think the brain must "Look Beyond" what it actually is seeing and form an image that we expect to be seeing. The distortion of the lines in the glass never looks that pronounced at the time.
I like the small areas of colour that are an oasis in a sea of gray
Excellent! I love these kind of pictures. I spent some time in Toronto last year and got quite a few of the same. I think yours are brilliant!
Here is one from Toronto, I love the shape of the bricks from the building on the left reflecting all warped and also if you look closely you can see the CN Tower trying to hide away in the reflection just off centre to the right........
Hi Digg,
It seems to me that we share the same point point of view when it comes to take pictures of those mirror like buildings when they produce captivating forms, lights, shapes and colors. I do like your picture as well. I would have seen that composition if I where there
