Hi Ben,
the orrange sky is also nice. It seems you also had good clouds to reflect the sunshine. You used the monopod for this, I suspect?
I tried to find geese in the lake but could not.

Yes, the monopod was indeed used, I pretty much use the monopod all the time now.

I also used a graduated Cokin orange filter to bring out a little colour, then a very slight tweak on the saturation and contrast in PS, but it is pretty much as it came out of the camera.

It looks to me that the fire is everywhere, in the waters too.
Nice catch of the moment.
I would prefer if it could be just a very slight step towards yellow cast, just because the waters look a little more redish than they should to me, but anyway this is my personal opinion and taste.

i have the same filter and also find it useful for the occasional boost to evening colour.

If the clouds hadn't been as "swirly" then the picture would not have made me stop and look. But that combined with the vapour trails and the genreal warmth means I like it.

Well, I actually said this was Virginia Waters, but my mate who went along with me, has now stated that it was actually Dinton Pastures So check that place out (if you havent already). This was taken around 4 oclockish, on Saturday.

great image but the water appears too red and the orange of the sun is not as apparent in the water, but what a shot! love it.
