Have'nt been around much due to bereavements and house moves since last spring .
This was taken last weekend just outside Crowborough , Sussex .

Comments very welcome .

Hi Bob,

I love the quality of the light (early morning or late afternoon?) but I think if this was one of mine I'd probably crop some of the dark foreground to give a letter-box format. I don't think the dark area adds anything to the image and it would move the horizon from the centre of the image. The other thing I find rather jarring is modern building in the background on the left.

exactly what vernon has said!

first thing i did on viewing the pic was to scroll the window to get rid of most of the fields in the foreground (up to just under halfway up the image) as i find the lower dark section unbalances the shot
i do like the simple border effect as it adds to presentation of the image.

Yes you're both right i did crop into letterbox format to post this on another forum but left it full size for critique .
Regarding the building? i did think about cloning it out , but i'm always of the opinion that if something is there , it's there , it's part of the landscape of that shot so i left it in .
I would have liked to have got nearer and shot the tree from closer and from a different angle , but the field had a ditch in it just about where i stood and apart from SAS training it would have been hard for me to get around it .

I also think that the letter box format would be better! You have captured the light very well & wondered if perhaps making more of that with a little more saturation could enhance it!
