  • Back inside

I had this vision during the time my dear sister was pregnant. We spoke about the idea and with her kind co-operation, this is the result. Please give me your thoughts and comments, this is my most challenging work so far and also the longest time to create.

    Hi Gina

Kinda scarey photograph and this would look great in a gallery.

Very different Gina - certainly made my eyes open wide when viewing. As per Dave's comments I'm sure it's got gallery potential. As and when, how did you achieve it?

        Re: Back inside

Sensitive and brilliantly executed. It is a most amazing and unusual piece of work Gina. Well done.

I also would like to know how it was achieved.

            Re: Back inside

You know Gina, I don't really know how good this pic is technically, but I think it is fairly unique (of course there are probably dozens if I looked for them), but if I were you I would be making sure I had a better copyright mark on it. Although yours has your name it could very easily be cropped. I know you can make them to go right through the image. I haven't done it myself but I am sure someone would tell you how to make your photograph more secure.

Hope you don't mind me saying so.

              Re: Back inside

Thank you everyone for commenting. I am happy to explain how I achieved this image but as Audrey has pointed out, this is one of a kind as far as my research leads me to believe. I've trawled the net and books for months to find something similar. I really do need help with embedding a copyright in my work now and any advice would be very much appreciated.

The concept behind this image was to give my sister something remarkaby different and I believed from the start I could achieve it. We talked about how to achieve the end result and although I'm very pleased with the end result, I might have found a different technique that will be even better. I will give details on how I achieved this as soon as my final experiment is complete and I have found out how to protect my work, other than plastering my name all over the image.

Finally, does anyone know a professional portrait photographer personally that wouldn't mind having a chat with me about my work? I'd like to broaden my horizons and get my work seen by the right people with more critique and advice but the net is a minefield of sites that give 'nice work / great shot' comments and I need more detail than that now. I know my work is not technically perfect but I'm working on that and believe in myself, my portrait work is good and I have people asking how much I charge to do portraits now

I really do love this site and all of you that contribute. I've never found any other photo site that offers what DP Now does.

                Re: Back inside

Gina, I googled and found this on UTube:

                [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=IqZoHhBTEvY[/ame]

It's quite good if you use Photoshop and Lightroom.

There are others under Google, but I haven't looked at them. Good Luck.

Thanks Audrey, I'll find something that works but I can't afford Photoshop or Lightroom

                    Re: Back inside

Late again.... but a beautiful image Gina - and I agree with the previous comments about protecting it.

I don't know what photo-editing software you use, but I did a quick google search and found a couple of sites that offer free watermarking software.

I know Picnik (part of flickr) and the online Photoshop Express will let you add text to your image, but not sure how effective they would be.

Gina, have a look for Picasa3, that is out now and you can do loads with it and it's free.

                      Good pic by the way.

Gina, last week Cogito mentioned a website that has loads of really useful & interesting photo effects, one of which was how to create your own watermark! It may be worth having a look! www.photoshopessentials.com/photoeffects
