  • Martine Mere

I hesitated to post this shot of this Robin taken at Martine Mere today after Pops posts. His are so good.
However this does have a sort of story to go with the picture.
It was in one of the hides, and it spent most of the afternoon there taking little notice of the many people around, but kept attacking its own reflection in the glass flaps in the hide.
I didn't get a decent picture of the attacks, but I was reasonably pleased with this less active shot.
I wished I had used a smaller aperture to get more DOF.

      It's a lovely pose, Patrick

And there is a lot of detail in the red breast. I also like the gradual change to blur as the DOF runs out.

      Lovely!

Don't want to bore you with a succession of pictures featuring a robin but it was a very likable little thing full of character, so here is just one more.

Lots of detail in both shots..I love em both.
Having one inside the hide just shows how tame they can get. It also make for a very humorous situation.

I like em both too - particularly the first. He seems to have a "who you looking at" pose.

2 lovely shots Patrick! I'd be thrilled with them if they were mine! I wasn't able to get close enough to the 1 & only robin I saw in England! They are my favourite of UK birds!

                Hi Patrick -

I'll go with the flow - two very good shots.
