I like her expression - but is that mascara on her eyelashes?!

The image is quite noisy - was this at a high ISO setting?

Dave I saw a similar shot to yours today and it made me realise what it was that I felt was not quite right about it. I think essentially your picture is about the face, obviously female and a soldier. Now the one I saw today was much the same except it was a male soldier, but the photographer had the whole gun barrel in the picture and it was all sharp. Somehow it had more impact and was not about the face of a soldier, more about what the soldier does. You were literally looking down the barrel.

So there is a challenge for you

Hi Stephen - That was the shot i was trying to get but couldn't get the depth of field after i tried a few test shots so concentrated on the face.
The light was pretty low and just couldnt seem to get it right.

This was one of my other shots but taken the next day when it was a bit brighter. Saying that soldiers like to see pretty girls too.
