Dinghy on Rutland Water

I'm pleased with this attempt at an action shot, but wonder about the cropping? The image below is cropped to about 2/3 its original size, making the couple in the boat much more prominent, which I feel adds humanity to the shot, but losing the top of the mast.

Of course, I'd welcome feedback on any aspects of the image....

Losing the top of the sail doesn't bother me but I would have liked a bit more space on the right for the couple to lean into

I tried it cropped to the shore line and for me it worked better.

I found the numbers far to distracting, you are right to concentrate on the people, they are the interesting element and much more the subject than the boat.
