The primary colours of these boats & their reflections caught my eye for this shot! Your comments & critiques appreciated!

Very vibrant! Interesting that the sky in the background looks very grey, contrasting strongly with the brightness of the boats.

Well spotted Jocelyn i love the colours in this one, good detail and composition. you could have been tempted to crop some of the water off but i think it would have spoiled the overall picture. nice one ....JIM

Thank you all for your comments. I did manipulate the saturation levels & tweak the exposure a fraction in Photoshop. We were having lunch of Fish & chips in Brixham when I noticed the light change & sky darken, so looked for a subject & noticed the primary colours of these boats! Here is the original without any changes, only file size decrease for this forum! As is, straight from the camera!

Nice one Joc, I'd probably have taken the shot myself. However, without wishing to appear too pedantic, GREEN is not a Primary colour

Erm, green certainly is a primary colour, or have I missed a joke in here?

I think you will find that Green is a Secondary colour, being a mixture of Blue and Yellow

Ah - well, you need to set the context!

Green is an additive primary colour, as are red and blue, making the set of red, green, and blue (RGB).

In this respect, a colour you put forward as a primary colour (yellow) is a secondary primary, being made from mixing red and green.

RGB is very important for photography as it's the colours that cameras see with and monitors display with.

Painters will look to red, yellow and blue as the subtractive primary colours, while printers use cyan, magenta, yellow and, often black.

Indeed, but when I went to school, basic physics lessons taught us that Red Yellow and Blue were the primary colours, because they could not be formed by mixing other colours. This of course was a reference to using paint pigments. But as with many things these days "Confusion rules, OK"

Anyway Jocelyn, were you on holiday here or are you not living in Australia anymore?

Lovely photograph and so well positioned with the red boat in front.

                              Re: Fishing Boats

I was on holiday in the UK for 2 weeks approximately, visiting friends & family! Spent 4 or 5 days in London, the rest in Devon! I also spent 3 weeks in Europe! Best of Europe tour! Amsterdam, Heidelberg in Germany, Lucerne, Verona, Venice, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii, Sorrento & Capri, Florence, Pisa, Nice or Monte Carlo, Grenoble, Beaune and lastly Paris. Before returning to Australia, we spent 4 days in Albufeira in Algarve, Portugal. Had fantastic weather in Europe but rain, rain, rain in UK!
It seems I caused a bit of discussion re primary colours! Funnily enough, there is a school of thought that says there are 4 primary colours! Stephen, admit there were primary colours featured in the shot! Primarily, the red boat would have drawn my attention first & composition fell into place around that! There were so many boats, it was difficult to compose a shot with only a few! I was pleased with the shot personally & glad to hear other peoples views confirming it worked! Thanks!
