I went to London yesterday, and rather than take my SLR, I dug out my little compact camera that I haven't used for a year or two! I took lots of shots that I probably wouldn't have done with the SLR, and this was one of them. It's a wall on an Underground station, layers of posters have been partially peeled off to reveal the ones beneath. I can't decide if it's cool, or just a waste of pixels! I very rarely take abstract-type photos. So - opinions welcomed!

It occured to me afterwards - is taking pictures on Tube stations actually allowed? I didn't think about that beforehand?

There's a bit about that in Digital camera magazine.

quote "According to Transport for London, there is no restriction on taking photographs for personal use at Underground stations provided you only do so for a few minutes. You cannot use flash or other lighting on the platforms and use of a tripod requires permission of the station supervisor. If you intend to take photographs for any length of time or you wish to sell them or use them for any commercial purpose you will require a permit."

I took a similar one a while back:

Also using a compact (Olympus Mju 790SW).

That's useful to know, thank you.
