All three taken from fixed hides, the top two from Marievale - a Ramsar wetland near Springs in Gauteng, the bottom one in Lake Panc Bird Hide in Kruger NP. The top two were less than 8 m, used a 200-400f4 VRS +1.4 TC on D200
green Bg on 120-300 F2.8 Sigma with 2X TC on D70.
At Lake Panic, they sometimes are as near as two m.
Our fishers are more trusting, or stupid, than their Europeen cousin.

They are all absolutely gorgeous - what light!

BTW bird hides do not need to be camoflagued colour-wise their purpose is to hide movement becuase its movement that disturbs birds - my father used a brilliant luminous green one to very good effect (and remember the bush in AFrica is very rarely green at all)
