  • Have Scales will travel!

Walking through a market in Vietnam, I came across a gathering. I think dad must have return from his daily fishing trip and sent daughter out to sell his wares.

She appeared to be unfazed by the fact that she had no stall.

I like the image Audrey from the point of view it tells a story, on the technical side i don't know how you could improve the image given the position of the subject perhaps someone else may have suggestions. well done ....JIM

      wow what a strong photo.
Just look at the concentration on her face.

I don't normally go for photos with people in them, but I actually like this one.

I agree with strontian you seem to have covered every angle.

Just thought I would show you the next picture for interest:

I call it "End of Transaction"

            Hi Audrey,
I like the low angle shot of the first one. Vietnam is a very colorful country indeed.
The second shot is also interesting for me. It shows similar semi-dried fish we also have here. It also came to my notice that their costumes have changed drastically - especially hat the three ladies put on. It was like this ten years ago. Have you ever seen a straw hat there?

              Re: Have Scales will travel!

The thing I like about this type of photo is it's not set up in any way. These photos tell a story about how other people live and their way of life. I cannot offer any real critique as this is not the sort of photos I take but well done for taking them and showing them to us. OK I know that is a bit of a cop out after my last thread. Having said that the one thing you could have done is made sure that all of the scales were in the photo with a title like this. Oh and not sure there is a smiley or not for it but I am running for cover

I love the low angle of the first one, then standing up to take the money in the second, tells a story and also your thoughts how to best portray the scene. Were you very far away? and did they know you were taking the picture? At least someone had a nice fish supper

I wouldn't be too far away. Just enough to get them all in without too much zoom, I think. I was just walking through and when I saw them, I waited for a space and just took them.
