  • The Getty Museum, Los Angeles

On our return from Hawaii last November we stayed a couple of nights in LA.

I had always wanted to visit the Getty Museum ever since we missed it in 1999.

I was not disappointed, the architecture was stunning and IMO appealed to me more than the contents therein.

    Your opinions would be appreciated.

Love the curves and angles. The first image is so clean.

Anne and I were there in 2004 and just enjoyed everthing so much.

      Thanks for reviving the memory.

I like these Audrey, the clean lines and curves along with the large glass windows give it a light, airy and spacious feel. IMHO a great example of modern architecture

Hasn't anyone else got any comments or thoughts on Audreys photo. I'm surprised there have been so few comments.......just a brief opinion will do

I prefer the first one for the sweeping lines. The second one IMHO is spoilt by the person on the right, standing at the "desk"?

i believe a .9 degree ccw would help this image. when shooting architecture, it's important to keep the lines plumb and level. working from the center will balance the sides nicely.

the person at the desk adds to the image imo. brings the museum to life...so to speak.

              nice capture.

I am sure you are right Jon. If you could see my Lightroom adjustments before I posted you would realise how many times I had tried to get it just right. There are so many sloping uprights which aren't converging verticles!

I have had another go and here is it. Is it any better?

They're beautiful images and the colours are fabulous! is there colour in the glass or are the blues reflecting from the skies?

A very beautiful building, obviously a very talented and artistic archirect.

I agree with jon that the person at the desk add something extra and imprtant to the second inage. I also prefer your ltaer, edited version.

                  Superb stuff Audrey. Nice ones!

Lovely shots both of them Audrey.

Love the lines, and shades of muted colours.

I agree it should be rotated just a slight amount, however its a bit of a nit pick.

Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like you used a very wideangle lens, and possibly cropped a little off the right? so it will always be hard to balance the shot.

                    Great stuff!

                      Hi Pol and Ben

Just for you I am attaching the original so that you can see the colour as the camera took it.

I also saved it in CS3 as save as ... ... ... I thought it would show the EXIF, but in my gallery, the icon for showing the EXIF is not there.

Can you see it, if not, what have I done wrong?

                      Anyway:

                      Dimensions 3488 x 2626
                      Exposure 1/350 sec x f4
                      Focal length 6.2mm
                      ISO 100
                      Flash did not fire
                      Fujifilm Finepix S9500
