  • The Commanding Officer

    Hi Guys

    I thought I drop a B&W in for a change.

I know it misses the mark on some of the rules but any thoughts.

I like this alot....................forget rules. I like the B/W and the gravity of the shot. Excellent

I like this a lot - it seems as if the CO has a critical eye and I think b+w helps show this.

yes I like this a lot, love the way he is made to stand out, instead of just a photo of a group of soldiers you have given him an air of importance. The B/W gives great gravity to the situation.

now a question how was this look achieved? was it normal dof. or something else...
sorry if it sounds silly but I do so like the effect.

          Hi FP

          DOF.

When you take pictures of soldiers on parade most folk like to see face ie meet and greet the General. I took quite a few in amongst the ranks.

To get a different view i dropped back and had my long lens on the spare. I'm very pleased with the results thats for sure and it's a wonderful feeling to get the comments from the forum.

Lesson learnt - I need to buy a monopod.

          Cheers - Dave R
