  • London - Movement

    Dear All,

I took a trip to London on Friday. The day started brightly with warm summer sunshine. I caught the 6.10 train from Twyford and got to Paddington about 45 mins later.

As the day progressed the weather changed with grey rain clouds dominating and as you will see from my gallery (see pbase link) this changed what I photographed.

This set is all about movement. All comments and critique welcomed.

    More can be found here

    Best Regards

    Josh

    Hi Josh

I like this set the best. Not to sure about the signs set. No photo police on the tube then.

thanks peter. Nobody bothered me at all. I was aware that I had to be quick with my shots and when I felt I was pushing my luck I hopped on the tube for one stop and then got off to try again

      Best regards

Josh, just on my way to the land of nod and spotted these. Felt compelled to comment that I like all 3 sets. This is good stuff, something slightly different to the norm too. Looked at the whole gallery on Pbase, you have a great set of pics there that represent your day. I like your approach to the underground shots too Well impressed and wish I had been there too

Great stuff, especially number 2 in this set

That's a very unusual effect in image number 1...

            Re: London - Movement

A very impressive set of photographs. I particularly like No. 2 of this set. I always try to take pictures of trains coming into the stations, when on holiday. It's nice to try something different.

I think it is a good idea to have a theme, as you did.

Like you, when we went to London last year, it rained, so my theme was 'Umbrellas'. When on the coach, I was focussing on umbrellas and I also got movement.

              Thanks All,

I think London is great because no matter what the weather there are always things to take pictures off. I still feel there is a lot more I can do along the Thames and Autumns picture of the rain and umbrellas shows the opportunities are massive.

Perhaps we should organise a day out in London?

              Best Regards

                We'd get lost!

Actually, I have been trying to persuade my husband to go to London on the train for a weekend (and take me) so if a day out were arrange, we could probably arrange it to coincide.

I will go along with all the other comments great movement shots, nice to see some experimental photography, it doesn't always work out with successful pictures, in this case it has done.

                  Well Done

A really good set - the tube is my pick although the others come pretty close.

Were the results achieved with a slowish shutter speed?
