This photo was taken about 3 years ago with a 3 Mp Benq compact! I have converted to mono & added a rough pastel on canvas filter from CS2 gallery in the hope of giving a Fine Art feel to the pic! It came out well when printed from larger file! Critique & suggestions welcome.

Think it was a good decision to convert to B/W, whilst leaving the touch of red in the flag, but am unsure of the filter. It has created an odd appearance around the horizontal ropes across the top, and produced some quite heavy diagonal lines in general which I feel detract from what is a most interesting photograph. I like the billowing effect you have caught in the sails, but again I think it is the contrast that helps here rather than the etched effect.
