    Re: Bluebell

    Hi Mike

I love bluebells but have never really been successful in getting the correct exposure - I just find it difficult.

I think you have just about got it here and with the blurred background, I think you are on your way.

It would have been nice to have cleared the bottom of the frame and got the whole bluebell in, as you have plenty of room at the top. Another thing, a bit of "Gardening" wouldn't have gone amiss here - I would have removed the stick or stalk at the side of the bluebell. I also think a tweak to lift the vibrancy of the colours would help - may be in curves.

Anyway, it's good to see bluebells again. I must have a go soon and try and get some better shots than previous years. To date, I haven't seen any bluebells, only rain and hail.

        Re: Bluebell

Oh, it is nice to see the bluebells again. You are lucky that they are out down your way. I shall have to wait a while longer.

I believe your shot captures the true colour of the bluebell, the actual misty haze in our minds is very difficult to reproduce. I too would like to see the full flower with a length of stem. Though the twig does not bother me greatly, it would probably be better if it weren't there. It is just lovely to see the long tubular bells of the English bluebell in clear focus.
