You decide
Are you sure it is a halo? I wondered if it might be a shadow behind the droplet or even a section of black reflected in the droplet from the liquid beneath.
Either way - I reckon it's a very nice picture with gorgeous silky tone and very nice definition of the droplet.

Halo, shadow they both end in 'oh'it was late and i was tired! Halo sounds cooler anyway
Yes I think its a shadow from the gun as I was bouncing it. The direct full on flash was too harsh.
Im glad you like it.
cheers

Re: Water Sphere Droplet
I am impressed. I like these type of shots, and have tried several times, quite a while ago now, to capture a dripping tap. I like the fact that the sphere looks so clean against the surrounding water. As has already been said the smooth fluid background looks very good. The dark 'halo' and the dark pool at the base add to it. I wonder if cropping the sides to the edge of the ripple would concentrate the focus on the droplet more.
I feel a session with bowls of water and droppers coming on.

Re: Water Sphere Droplet
Thanks guy's & gal's, on the whole I feel you like this shot, although I feel compared to other shots on the internet of splash pics, I think its poor, but I have not seen another with a near perfect sphere yetIm probly looking in the wrong places. thanks for all your feedback and i think Ill be having another go soon, you all must try it, its great fun and the best bit is uploading to pc and sitting down and looking at the results full screen, you cant beat it!
